Antique Flintlock US Model 1817 H.Derringer Common rife. Although it's currently flintlock this rifle may have been reconverted. The functioning lock is marked 1827 US H.Derringer, Philadelphia. The 36 inch barrel is dated 1827 on the tang and LS US at the breach with front and rear sights and appears to be approximately 55 caliber. All metal parts have a grey brown patina with scattered pitting. The full 3 band walnut stock is in good condition with one visible cartouche and the iron patch box.
