This Colt was produced in 1975. The pistol's serial number is D 62724. this pistol has the highly collectable 2 1/2 inch barrel. The bore is minty looking with sharp lands. The chambers are in fine new looking condition. This Colt is in very fine almost new condition. The original bluing would rate a 99% condition. The action works smoothly with a nice trigger release. The adjustable rear sight is factory original to this pistol. The front sight has a bright red nail polish added to the sight ramp for better viewing. That nail polish can be easily removed. The wood grips are original Colt made grips for the Colt Detective Special frame pistols. These grips fit this pistol perfectly. In my opinion These grips are superior to the original wrap around grips for fit and comfort! This is a highly collectable Colt with the short 2 1/2 inch barrel.
