Consigned by the original commissioner/owner and absent a serial, it wears a 25-inch barrel (.675-inch muzzle diameter, scope blocks, unknown twist). METAL: Jim Dubell added or possibly refitted the barrel, added the lever and accounted for the balance of the metalwork in flawless fashion. STOCK: Dennis Earl Smith created the stock from a blank set with dynamic sunburst and dressed it with a schnabel, fine wrap checkering, scalloped rolling cheek rest with shadow line, an “S-shaped" grip and a hooked butt plate (brass). ENGRAVING: Gary Griffiths (signed) engraved the receiver to full coverage. Right side has a bust of Brigham Young and left a bust of John Browning, each looking over a wagon train scene. The panoramas are bordered by a shaded vine pattern that reappears on top of the action, over the chamber, around the muzzle and along the lever. Gold wire rings the chamber and muzzle while both lever and hammer are accented with color case. DIMENSIONS: Weight (with optic) is 10.6 pounds and the length-of-pull is 14.25 inches. CONDITION: The bore is bright with strong rifling and occasional mild roughness. Metal and wood finishes are each approximately 98 percent. Exterior finish of the optic is approximately 85 percent. The price is firm and layaway is available. $6,500 plus shipping. Price: $6,500.00 Rifle Caliber: .225 Winchester |
