Fitted with extremely well-made white composite/plastic grips with medallions having the “Wound Badge” symbol and marked “J R 173”. The Wound Badge symbol speaks for itself; I assume the “J R 173” is some type of unit designation. The magazine is later war time FXO Eagle/37 marked with an un-numbered aluminum floor plate. The pistol is in fine cosmetic condition about 90%. The original blue finish shows holster wear at muzzle and high areas. Straw looks to be around 50%. Functions as it should. Bore is fair with some pitting. The shoulder holster appears to have been theatre made from a pebble grain P-38 break-away CXB Joseph Moll holster and has a Luftwaffe hat insignia attached. Holster shows some wear. The entire outfit includes the capture papers dated 21 Oct 1945. The bring back GI enlisted 22 Aug 1942 for the duration of the war pus six months. He was a medic/med tech with the 334th Medical Battalion attached to the 89th Infantry Division treating wounded soldiers and concentration camp victims. Also included but not pictured is a copy of small booklet “Rolling Ahead-The Story of the 89th Infantry Division” produced by Orientation Branch, Information and Education Division, HQ USFET. We are selling this unusual Krieghoff outfit for the son of the GI who brought it home at the end of WW II.
