This is because of different modifications they made to the gun. The modifications include a serrated trigger, an original ramrod bayonet, an original Buffington rear sight, and an improvement to the trapdoor. - Has ramrod bayonet included. - Has Buffington rear sigh attached. - Gun has "25th" stamped on the butt plate. This indicates it was issued to the 25th infantry of the Buffalo Soldiers. The 1884 Springfields were primarily used by the U.S. Army, Navy, and Marine Corps. The guns were primarily issued to the reserve and second-line forces. These guns were used in the American-Indian War, Spanish-American War, and Philippine-American War.
