Description:

HIGH POWER PISTOLS, FIRST VARIATION SALES SAMPLE. In 1969, a Mr. Paul Van Hee was told of Omani interest in FN High Power pistols. Although he was not a representative of FN, sensing a business opportunity, he purchased a number of High Power pistols in 9mmP and marked them in the US with the Omani crest to use as sales samples. The first nine pistols, this being one, were marked with a reversed Crest having an incorrectly rotated dagger whose sheath was pointed to the right. This pistol, with tangent sight, slotted frame, and ring hammer, was finished in black enamel. The left side of the slide was marked with the late two line FN address. The right side of the pistol has the usual Belgian proofs and stacked serial numbers on the barrel, slide, and frame. The lightly stamped Omani crest has the incorrectly rotated crest as previously detailed. Fitted with black plastic bordered grips, the left panel recessed for the lanyard ring. A correct unmarked magazine with button secured black enameled base. Complete with a Browning marked black plastic brass zippered pouch.

Condition:

NEAR NEW, the barrel hood with a light mark from having been cycled, front strap with a negligible scuff, left grip with a few tiny marks at front border. Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. EXC pouch. One of the rarest post-war FN HP Pistols, one of nine examples with reversed crest, well documented, and ATF approved to be fitted with a correct shoulder stock without tax stamp!
