(without Stock), LOP 14 3/4" Serial Number: 452WYE Colt Single Action Army revolvers have proven to be highly collectible, investment quality firearms for over half a century. Some are more common than others, some are extremely rare and appeal to the most discriminating of Colt enthusiasts. TODAY WE BRING TO YOU A TRUE ONE-OF-A-KIND OFFERING THAT WILL COMMAND THE INTEREST OF THE MOST ASTUTE COLLECTOR, A COLT WITH FACTORY CORRESPONDENCE REGARDING THE SPECIAL NATURE OF THIS PARTICULAR GUN, THE ATTENTION OF COLT’S CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD, AND A COLT WITH A SPECIAL STORY TO GO WITH IT. This unique SAA revolver, sn452WYE built in 1973 (a rifle by ATF rules) is a special-order, presentation inscribed, “Wyatt Earp” Buntline edition unlike any other. Shipped with special order engraving executed by factory master engraver Alvin A. White (documented), a 16” barrel, German silver shoulder stock (also engraved and presentation inscribed), and factory custom walnut case, this spectacular piece remains unfired and in pristine condition. There is not room here for the full story of this Peacemaker’s genesis, but briefly, a Mr. Falcone was in possession of a special 1st Generation SAA, factory engraved, gold-plated, with pearl grips that Colt’s Chairman of the Board Mr. George Stichman desperately wanted for the upcoming Colt factory firearms museum. This gold-plated Colt had historical importance, so Colt put well-known Colt expert Larry Wilson in charge of procuring the desired SAA revolver for the museum. Communications were had, a deal was struck, approved by the Chairman Mr. Strichman, and as a trade for the gold-plated SAA, this revolver was produced with factory C-type engraving, with additional embellishments of profuse engraving, gold wire inlays, and presentation inscribed to Mr. Falcone. THIS IS ONE OF ONE, NOT ANOTHER LIKE IT EVER MADE. In the world of Colt Single Action Army revolvers, inscribed guns are most cherished by collectors. With full documentation, including 5 letters of correspondence from Larry Wilson and other Colt officials plus the Colt factory letter itemizing the features of this revolver, there is no question about its uniqueness and authenticity. The gun is signed by one of Colt’s most desirable engravers, A.A. White. The workmanship is stunning, and the uniqueness of this set inflates desirability and value for the avid Colt enthusiast beyond any of the offerings that were made in series and volumes greater than one! This second-generation Colt Peacemaker checks all the right boxes. You won’t see another, the letters of correspondence are icing on the cake, and the fact that Colt’s Chairman of the Board George Strichman and Colt legends Larry Wilson and Alvin White are part of the story just sweetens the desirability factor in this piece. Review the photos and you will see the elaborate engraving and special features are worth the price even without the special nature of this Colt’s creation. Don’t hesitate…she won’t last long.
