32904-SUPERIOR H. ASTON U.S. MODEL 1842 PERCUSSION .54 CAL. SINGLE SHOT CAVALRY PISTOL DATED 1850. 15” o/a with 8 ½” barrel Ordnance inspected and proofed “J H/P” at left breech. Lock stamped “US/H. ASTON” and “MIDDTN/CONN/1850”. Walnut stock with two very fine Ordnance Inspector’s cartouches stamped on side panel. All original and excellent. Metal with the original medium grey patina and stock with all the original finish. Tight working order, excellent nipple and very good bore. Nice crisp markings. Carried by U.S. Dragoons and Cavalry during the Indian Wars, the Utah War and still in service during the Civil War. Nice example at a reasonable price. $1900.
