Original Winchester Cleaning Rods for Model 1866, 1873, and 1876 Sporting Rifle
Original Good Condition original 4 piece set of rods for Winchester lever action rifle. These were stored in the buttstock via a sliding or lifting trapdoor in the buttplate. This one has the brass tip with the softer rounded shoulders which would date it to around 1880 to 1892 and probably went in a Model 1873 rifle with 24" barrel in calibers 38-40 or 44-40 although it would also be correct for a 4th Model 1866 and a Model 1876 Short Rifle ( Info AA BW).
