Custom Oberndorf Mauser Model 98 .30-06. Made in 2012 and acquired from the original owner who bespoke the rifle, serial B083724 showcases the metalwork of Tom Burgess cradled in a AAA-grade English walnut stock crafted by Dennis Earl Smith. Both elements are unsigned. Features include a rust blue finish, 22-inch barrel (.600-inch muzzle diameter, unknown brand), polished bolt body, nickel bolt knob (checkered underpanel), custom bolt shroud with two-position safety, custom bottom metal (inside-the-bow release) and a custom trigger (marked “Finland”). STOCK: Smith appointed the stock with a satin finish, schnabel (scalloped, tapering point), superb wrap checkering, side panels, framed ejection port, pedestaled bolt release, scalloped cheek rest with shadow line, Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad, sling swivel studs and timed screws. Bedding is on pillars. Leupold bases are attached. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 7.4 pounds and the length-of-pull is 13.6 inches. CONDITION: Unfired. The bore is pristine. Metal and wood finishes are essentially new with but minor traces of handling. The price is firm and layaway is available. $4,750 plus shipping.
