Pete Grisel custom Mauser 98 .257 Roberts. Acquired from the original bespoke owner as completed in 1990, serial 11206 has a 22-inch barrel (.565-inch muzzle diameter, unmarked as to maker or twist). Features include a custom bolt handle (three checkered and bordered teardrop panels), custom bolt shroud with three-position safety and a Blackburn trigger. STOCK: Shaped from an English blank with complex and delicate figure, formalities include wrap checkering bookended by flaring dimensional leafs and accented with a scalloped fleur, pedestaled bolt release, scalloped cheek rest with shadow line, steel grip cap, checkered steel butt plate with widow's peak, timed screws and inletted oval pockets for quick-detaching sling loops. “H.L. Grisel” appears on the barrel. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 7.0 pounds and the length-of-pull is 13.6 inches. CONDITION: Unfired. The bore is pristine. Metal and wood finishes are each at least 98 percent owing to minor indications of display and handling. The price is firm and layaway is available.
