Robert Stutler custom Mauser 98 .275 Rigby (7x57). Built on an FN Mauser action wearing serial 37882, it is the 5th rifle (designated Number 5) of approximately 25 rifles Stutler built. Features include a 23-inch barrel (6.45-inch muzzle diameter, recessed crown, ramp front sight with brass-beaded blade, banded sling swivel stud, drift-adjustable island rear sight assembly with one standing and two folding leafs). Features include a rust blue finish, three-position roll over safety, Blackburn bottom metal (inside-the-bow release button) and a custom trigger. The receiver is not drilled/tapped. STOCK: Shaped from a AAA-grade English blank, appointments include an ebony forend tip, 24 lines-per-inch checkering with partially Mullered borders, scalloped pancake cheek rest with shadow line, steel grip cap, inletted toe line stud and a checkered butt plate with widow's peak. Screws are timed. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 8.2 pounds and the length-of-pull is 13.35 inches. CONDITION: The bore is outstanding - strong and bright. Metal and wood finishes are each approximately 97 percent. The price is firm and layaway is available. $6,500 plus shipping.
