Synopsis:

Highly desirable Star MB in 9mmP with correct original shoulder stock, one of only 1757 pistols made in short production runs between 1956-1975. This example made 1972. One of the very very few post WWII pistols to be NFA exempt when fitted with shoulder stock.

Description:

Standard configuration Star Model MB, cal. 9mmP, blued, with 5” barrel, fixed front and drift adjustable rear sight. Left side of slide marked with the modified two line address that includes the caliber 9mmP. Automatic pistol proofing on the left side of the slide and exposed barrel hood. Repeated as part of the usual triad of proofs under the left grip. Full serial number on right frame. “SPAIN” on the right side of trigger guard. Slotted backstrap is marked with assembly number “1”. “MB” designation on butt. Fitted with late brown plastic checkered grips. Unmarked magazine with two indicator slots on the right side and detachable floor plate. Walnut C-96 style hollow shoulder stock with unfinished body, four-screw hinge, and lug whose forward surface is marked with the assembly “82.” Assembly number repeated on the mating surfaces of the lid and body. No box, literature, or extended magazines.

Condition:

Pistol is virtually new with bright original salt blue easily grading at 99.9%. Comparable condition color-case hardened hammer. Minor staining of the strawed extractor. Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. The stock is in comparable condition, with only a few very superficial handling marks and a minor rub mark on the forward extension of the lug. WHILE A CORRECT AND ORIGINAL STOCK, IT IS NOT MATCHED TO THE PISTOL. LUG WILL NEED TO BE FITTED TO THE PISTOL SLOT. NFA exempt when fitted to stock.
