Description:
Guns Listing ID: 547627

NSN, circa 1825-1840‚s, .75 caliber, 29\" round barrel. Barrel and lock plate are a light grey patina. Lock plate is marked \"St. Etienne\". This is a unique breech loading rifle, to load you have to half cock the hammer, then push down on the side bar located on the right side between the lock plate and iron barrel band. Once that is depressed you are able to push up and twist to the left. Bore is smooth with some oxidation located on the wall. Stock has been lightly sanded with pin-prick holes visible. This system looks to be an early experimental design! (AL9616)
