Description:
I have a superb colt 1911 in Super 38 that was manufactured in 1947. This colt is an excellent condition and retains about 98% of its original finish. This is a unique year for the 1911 because of the transition Colt did in the stamping. It has the older address that was changed in mid 1947 to Colts Mfg Co rather than Colts patent firearms. Which was only used in early 1947 and not changed back till 1955-1956. Douglas Sheldons Colts Super 38 book describes this change Colt made. Has some handling marks but is in amazing condition.
