Based on a .220 Swift action made in the first days of 1939, serial 17859 (matching number on bolt) wears a 26-inch barrel (custom, no branding, 1/14 twist, .720-inch muzzle diameter, drilled/tapped for mount). Acquired from the original owner who ordered the build, features include a three-position “rudder” safety, cloverleaf tang and a Canjar Single Set trigger. STOCK: Shaped from a walnut blank with good directional and outstanding crossing figure, the forearm is a broad and flat for riding a bag. Appointments include fine borderless checkering (wrapping over the wrist) accented by fleurs, ribbons and a diamond, scalloped cheek rest with shadow line, steel grip cap, checkered steel butt plate with widow's peak quick-detaching sling loops. Screws are timed. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 9.8 pounds and the length-of-pull is 13.6 inches. CONDITION: The bore is bright with strong rifling but shows the beginning hints of frosting.
