Serial numbers are matching, factory markings on lock plate and receiver are legible. Stock has expected handling and usage wear, left side has “IAUPD PEO/26 VA BATT". Further research is needed to identify who this Burnside belonged too. It is more than likely to this carbine was captured by the Confederates during battle. Action mechanically functions correctly.
