Description:
Winchester Model 1897 12 Gauge Takedown with a full fixed choke. Mid to late 1990's my son and I aquired all parts with no stock set for this shotgun at an estate sale. We finished the custom build in 2001 which features a custom made stock from select Virginia walnut and then provided some ebony inlays and a customized recoil pad. The metal parts and barrel were stripped and polished and put through 2 cycles of hot caustic bluing and the furniture went through 15 cycles of hand rubbed linseed oil with 1500 grit wet sanding between each cycle. Functions flawlessly and still looks great 24 years after the custom build project was completed.
