In the 1800’s, individual Rangers often had badges made from Mexican coins, but these were not official or uniform. From the 1870’s onward, some Texas Rangers had badges made from coins and were locally crafted and varied in design. The Texas Government Code does refer to ”Special Texas Rangers” but these are distinct from the traditional Texas Rangers and are appointed with a different badge. Hundreds of new special Rangers were appointed by order, for six years with the Texas Rangers, 1875 to 1881. Price: POR |
