Here is the rarely encountered Collins HCM dating to 1862. This particular high condition example sports an almost mirror blade. Very little age staining. Has the corrugated leather stacked handle that is in perfect shape. Brass guard and pommel have a nice aged patina free of nicks and scratchs. Blade length is 12" by 1 9/16" wide. Brass guard measures 3 1/4" long. Blade has the Collins & Co stamp in a oval over Hartford. The original scabbard accompanies this blade and is in fine condition with good stitching on the reverse and little if any leather loss. Scabbard also has the brass tip with ball end and barely discernible minor dinting on tip. Leather has had good care over the years. A very special knife and scabbard in very high condition.
