Payment Types Accepted: Description: If you want a very rare, highly collectible M1 for your collection, here it is. Springfield Armory serial number 2306. Listed in volume 4, M1 Rifles section of the Springfield Research Service books. Outside of a CMP certificate or an interesting FOIA paperwork, the "where" and "when" for most M1 rifles is unknown. This serial number being linked to the 3rd Infantry in February of 1939 is indeed a special piece. This was sold as a receiver through the CMP as an item in late 2021. I have the CMP certificate. It's listed as an M1C on the cert for whatever reason, but it is/was by no means ever a "C". I have not requested provenance from the Archive Research Service for this rifle. It may turn up with more information.
