Offered here is a superb 1954 Cosmi Deluxe 12-gauge, the legendary Italian break-action semi-automatic shotgun known for its ingenious design, unmatched craftsmanship, and exclusivity.
This rare hand-built semi-auto combines a ribless 27.5" barrel with an 8+1 capacity tubular magazine housed in the buttstock. It is choked Improved Modified (.035"), with a ramped front bead for an unobstructed, clean sight picture.
The action is mechanically excellent—smooth to operate, locks up tight, with a crisp trigger. The bore is clear, and overall condition is excellent with only the faintest signs of careful use.
The receiver showcases elegant, full-coverage fine scroll engraving on the underside, including nine floral scroll “bouquets,” while the blued upper receiver retains 98% finish. The barrels display 99% original finish with the rich plum patina characteristic of vintage Cosmi's. The engraving is signed by the esteemed “B & B Bonsi Brothers” next to the trigger guard.
The straight-grip deluxe walnut stock and forend feature finely cut checkering and a checkered butt, adding to the gun’s graceful handling. Dimensions: DAC 1.5625", DAH 2.25", LOP 14.125", and a weight of 7 lbs. 6.9 oz.
Cosmì is revered as the only true luxury semi-automatic shotgun, entirely hand-fitted without screws, each of its 100+ components machined from solid steel. Produced in very limited numbers, no two are exactly alike.
