Also interested in purchasing ORIGINAL Civil War Confederate weapons for our personal collection. Description: Engraved schuetzen rifle with full length forend and Martini style action. Barrel, lever, breechblock, and buttplate are casehardened while remaining metal components are blued. Wood furniture displays checkering surrounded by floral patterns. Receiver shows floral scrollwork overall that extends to tang and breech of barrel. Rifle features both adjustable rear notch and tang mounted aperture sights. Front blade sight features protectors to both sides and a dovetail mounting. Top of barrel signed "B. STAHL, SUHL" in inlaid silver. Rifle features wooden ramrod beneath barrel in musket style stock with engraved endcap. Interesting take down mechanism where you swing the lever under the forend and barrel pulls straight out. Silver accents on some of the engraving. We're not sure as to the exact caliber. Seems to be a .38 based on our simple triangle drop in muzzle gauge, but most likely in a millimeter of some kind as this is a European target rifle. 30 1/2 inch part round part octagon barrel. Retains most of the finish overall with some handling marks. Wood has some light dings and handling marks but is sharp, may have had an extra coat of varnish applied at some point, not sure. Fine mechanical function. Bore has strong rifling throughout. Double set triggers. Made sometime in the late 1800's. Marked in silver on the bottom of the receiver SYSTEM-STAHL. This is really a super gun all around. Serial number is 5787 ANTIQUE! Buyer pays $85 shipping CONUS, including full insurance and tracking. AK & HI are extra.
