Description:
A very good NRA Springfield sporter by Griffin & Howe.  This rifle was built either late December of 1927 or early January, 1928. The star-gauged barrel is 24" with an excellent bore.  A single-lever base is installed.  (Griffin & Howe supplied the single-lever mounting system from 1927-32 before switching to the double-lever.  Customers who preferred the single-lever system could still have them installed on their G&H rifles for some time after 1932.) The length of pull is 13 7/8" including a 1" pad.  Please note: a Griffin & Howe steel butt-plate from the 1920s is currently available on Guns International.)  The weight is 8 lbs 7 oz.  This fine rifle conforms to G&H's "No. 2 Standard Rebuilding Job."  (See "Custom Gunmakers of the 20th Century" by Michael Petrov, pages 29-35.)
