Description:
This is a full box, 100 original round, of .22 Bullet Breech Caps Special manufactured by the United States Cartridge Company in Lowell, Mass circa 1905. These Government Special cartridges were developed for the Thompson-Hoffer Sub-caliber device used in special training versions of the 1903 Springfield rifle. The cartridges are the size of .22 shorts and have a copper case with "US" headstamp and a semi-round lead bullet. The two piece box has a plain label with black print and is in excellent condition showing slight age soiling and stain on the back. The cartridges are in excellent condition. A rarely seen box of ammunition and a "must have" if you own one of these rifles.
