Included is a live original Civil War .50 caliber cartridge for the Maynard Carbine; a canceled check bearing his signature; a scarce reprinted catalog from William Read & Sons in Boston featuring his Breech-Loading Rifle; and a copy of the excellent book by Rodney S. Hatch III Dr. Edward Maynard: "Letters from the Land of the Tsar 1845-1846": America's Pioneering Dental Surgeon/Turned Civil War Gun Inventor. The latter gives a detailed history of Maynard and his famous firearms. A fantastic collection of Firearms ephemera.
