Description:
US Mills Model 1894 Mounted Cartridge Belt (Blue). The Spanish American War period belt has a single row of fifty cartridge loops. It was made to fit the .30 Army, (.30-40 Krag-Jorgensen) rounds. The buckle is heavy brass with "MASS" for Massachusetts National Guard. The buckle is held on by copper wire. The belt shows light signs of age with no appreciable signs of wear, and has light storage dust, as well as a few very small spots of verdigris and the brass has toned to a dark brass patina. The hardware is marked "PAT. MILLS & ORNDORFF" with patent dates to 1894. The inside of the belt is stenciled "B 24 B" in white paint.;
