Description:
Serial #31052, .32 RF (black powder), 3.5 inch round ribbed barrel with a very fine bore with strong rifling and isolated spots of roughness. This is the Smith & Wesson New Model 1 ½ revolver (aka Model 1 ½ 2nd issue) built circa 1868-1875. The matching numbered, 5 shot revolver is in near excellent condition with the barrel and cylinder a pewter gray with spots of original blue in protected areas and is well marked on the rib. The frame shows much, 80-85% of the original bright blue finish turning to brown along the grip strap with muted case-hardened color on the hammer. Rosewood grips rate about excellent with light wear to the finish. The action functions properly with correct indexing and locks up tight with a slight bit of lateral play in the barrel. A great example of these neat little spur trigger revolvers. Antique
