Description:
Francotte Jubilee model 20 12 Ga side by side double barrel shotgun imported from Belgium by Ambercrombie & Fitch. This fine shotgun is in excellent plus condition. The nicely hand engraved receiver is case colored with brilliant blue, purple, and brown colors. A very slight wear of the case coloring is evident on the sharp edges of the sideplate cheeks from field use. The frame style is a Greener crossbolt boxlock. All mechanical functions are flawless, including the ejectors. When opening the gun for unloading the ejectors extract ammo for removing rather than ejecting. The barrels are 26" long and are choked modified right, improved modified left. The swamp, or game style, finely matted rib has a white center bead and a silver .130" front bead.
The walnut stock and forend is hand checkered 24 lpi with no wear observed. The round knob semi-pistol grip stock length of pull is 14-3/8" to the front trigger, drop to the comb is 2-7/16", with no measurable cast. The forend is a full beavertail design with the edges thinly wrapping around the sides of the barrels. Forend width at mid point is 2.15". We look at this fine shotgun in our shop and it seems to be begging for some game bird hunting. Shipping to Alaska and Hawaii will be additional.
