Description:
Nice example of a Colt 1860 fluted cylinder percussion revolver. Out of the 200,500, 1860's made only about 4,000 of those are the fluted cylinder versions like this one.
Serial number 3960 which falls in the middle of the estimated serial number 3 & serial number 8,000
The barrel, frame, grip frame and trigger guard all have number 3960. The wedge is numbered differently and I cannot see the number on the cylinder. Bore is very shootable.
The bad news: Look at the photo of the rear of the cylinder and you will notice that someone, at some time, machined the back of the cylinder near the cones. Thus no visible serial number!
