The Remington Model 742, commonly known as the Woodsmaster, is a semi-automatic, gas-operated rifle manufactured by Remington Arms from 1960 to 1980, with production numbers around 1.43 million. Chambered in .30-06 Springfield, it features a 22-inch free-floating barrel, a side ejection port, and feeds from detachable magazines, typically 4-round, with some that accept 10-round or rare 20-round variants
The action is built on the same gas-operated system used in the Remington 1100 shotguns, itself descended from the 870 series. Includes mounted Tasco optic.
