Description: Holland & Holland “Royal Deluxe” Double Rifle – .500/.465 NE – 24" Barrels – Deep-Relief Scroll – c. 1938 – Pristine Internals A superb example of Holland & Holland’s Royal Deluxe double rifle in .500/.465 Nitro Express, serial number 35591, completed circa 1938. This best-grade sidelock ejector features 24-inch chopper-lump barrels regulated for the classic .500/.465 NE cartridge, a favorite of professional hunters for its power and manageable recoil. The action is adorned with full-coverage deep-relief English scroll engraving, bolstered fences, and a scalloped back, retaining crisp definition throughout. Double triggers, automatic safety, and express sights are as originally configured. The stock is exhibition-quality walnut with a hand-rubbed oil finish, 15 5/8" length of pull over a leather-covered pad, drop at comb 1½", drop at heel 2¼", and ¼" cast-off. Inspection with sidelocks removed reveals pristine internal condition—the hammers, sears, and locks show minimal wear, indicating this rifle has seen very little use.
