Named after Aegis, the protective shield handed down from Zeus in Greek mythology, the Kimber Aegis Elite Custom series of 1911 handguns are light weight and easy to carry but still retain a high degree of functionality. Unlike many semiautomatic pistols with wide, bulky grips, the Kimber Aegis Elite Custom feature a slim grip and a compact design. They’ve also been given Kimber’s own Carry Melt treatment, a process that rounds sharper edges to ensure a smooth draw and reduces the risk of snagging. One of the most notable features of the Kimber Aegis Elite Custom is the milled slide with a Holosun C 507C-GR X2 Reflex Sight pre-installed. The standard iron sights have also been raised, allowing the user to line them up through the lens of the red dot sight in the event of a low or dead battery.
