Payment Types Accepted: Description: A popular choice for woodsmen and hunting guides, the Marlin 1895 has been a handy rifle with considerable firepower since its introduction in the late 19th Century. This rifle, however, is not an antique rifle, rather a nod to the original 1895s of yesteryear. This "New Model" 1895 is effectively a Model 336 (popular in .35 Remington and .30-30 Winchester) receiver that has been rechambered or rebarrelled for .45-70 Government. The lighter 336 receiver is still more than strong enough to handle the larger cartridge, while keeping manufacturing processes simpler. The 1895SS is a sporter model with a 22" barrel and 4-round magazine tube, which also has a crossbolt safety; the 'SS' here does not, in fact, denote a stainless steel receiver or barrel, as many might assume, just 'Sporter Safety' model. The barrel does also feature Marlin's famous "Micro-Groove" rifling. This rifle, built in 1991, is in very good condition. There are few signs of usage and no rust present in or on the gun. The rifle is a JM-stamped rifle, adding some collector's value. It features a hooded ramped front sight and an elevator-adjustable rear sight. This 1895SS is also fitted with a Leupold scope base. .45-70 Government Price: $1,299.99 Chambers: .45-70 Government Metal Condition: Very Good Wood Condition: Very Good Bore Condition: Very Good Barrels: 22 Stock Dimensions: 13 3/4" LOP Fore End: Walnut Butt Pad: Rubber Weight: 7 lbs 6 oz Sights: "Hooded front sight with elevator-adjustable rear sight, Leupold scope base (installed) Item Location: Kearney, NE |
