Payment Types Accepted: Description: The Marlin 336 is one of the most classic lever-action designs, alongside the Winchester 1894 and Marlin 1895. Most often chambered in .30-30 Winchester, the 336 has been a deerslayer across the country for generations and a common first rifle for many hunters. However, other calibers are also chambered in the rifle, such as this .35 Remington piece. .35 Remington was not intended to be used primarily in a lever-action platform with its rimless case, designed in combination with the Remington Model 8 autoloader. However, it managed to find common use in pump- and lever-action rifles from the likes of Mossberg, Marlin, and Remington themselves, as well as even some Winchester Model 70s. The cartridge performs with improved performance over a .30-30 and is a very capable brush gun for hunting medium-sized game in closer ranges, often a choice cartridge for black bears. This Marlin 336 was built in 1979 and is a JM-stamped standard model with plain oil-finished walnut furniture and decorative gold trigger. The stock is a standard pistol grip-style, not a straight grip stock. The rifle does not feature a crossbolt safety like later rifles would, but does have an added hammer extension for easy hammer manipulation, particularly when a scope is mounted. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope bases, but the 20" barrel is topped with a set of iron sights comprised of a dovetailed front sight blade with textured ramp and elevator-adjustable rear sight. The rifle is in good condition, with some light checking on the furniture from use, but good bore and barrel condition. The finish is in good condition as well, with no rust or corrosion and only slight fading of the bluing on the receiver. This rifle is not sold with a box or case. .35 Remington Price: $1,249.99 Chambers: .35 Remington Metal Condition: Very good Wood Condition: Good Bore Condition: Good Barrels: 20 Triggers: Gold Stock Dimensions: 13 1/4" LOP Fore End: "Plain walnut, oil-rubbed finish Butt Pad: Plastic Weight: 6 lbs 15 oz Sights: "Elevator-adjustable rear sight, dovetailed front blade sight with textured ramp, drilled & tapped for scope bases Item Location: Kearney, NE |
