Description:
Take a look at this sweet handling 20 gauge Arrieta 578 sidelock ejector with rare 29” barrels. Excellent condition with a generous 15” length of pull and hand detachable sidelocks. Coin finish with profuse Purdey-style engraving and Holland & Holland pattern sidelocks. It is a double trigger gun with automatic ejectors and auto safety. Has all the signature features of a high-grade double: Articulated front trigger, Rolled edge trigger guard, and Disc Set strikers. Nicely figured European walnut straight grip stock and splinter forearm. Appears to have been shot very little. Weighs 6lb 6oz. Now presented in its new leather case with snap caps.
The 29” chopper lump barrels are chambered for 2-3/4” and 3” shotshells. They are topped by a raised, solid gamestyle rib with a brass front bead. The chrome lined bores are shiny and bright and the bluing is a deep rich color. The right barrel is bored 0.627 with a constriction of 0.006 for Improved Cylinder choke. The left barrel is bored 0.625 and has a constriction of 0.010 for Modified choke. The classic upland gunning chokes.
The straight grip stock and splinter forearm are made of nicely figured European walnut. The stock and forearm have a smooth satin finish and the checkering is crisp. Stock dimensions are 15” including a 7/8” recoil pad by 1-3/8” by 2”. Cast off for the righthanded shooter.
Picture yourself working some of your favorite covers in the crisp Fall air with a great handling 20 bore double in hand. This handsome Spanish-made double is easy to carry for a day afield and just flows to the flushing gamebird. Better get it before it gets away!
