Syracuse Arms Hollenbeck
12ga with 2 sets of 28" barrels with matching forends. Both barrels, both forends and the receiver are matching stamped with the 2333 serial number. One barrel set marked number 1 and the other marked 2.
One set of barrels have .729 bores with .011 and .021 constrictions, the second set has .734 bores with .011 and .024 constrictions. Both sets of bores are beautiful and shiny.
Strangely enough, the barrels do not share the same forend latch type, 1 has the early V spring and the other has the J hook style.
I do not know the history of this gun besides Bachelders restoring the wood and complete dissasembly and inspection.
Both sets of barrels lock up very tightly with the lever right of center. However, there is daylight in between the breech face and barrel face on the right barrel only of each set. I have test fired both and the headspace is excellent and there are no issues.
Drop at comb is 1 7/16"
Drop at Heel is 2 1/8"
Cast on at comb is 1/8"
Cast on at Heel is 1/4"
LOP is 14 1/8"
The Buttstock was shortened at one point and either the cutoff or a new section of wood was added, it blends very well.
The finish on the barrels is excellent and the color case is beautiful.
