Built in 1882 this U.S. Springfield/Winchester-Hotchkiss 2nd Model remains in exceptional condition. The bore is mint and the mechanical working order is flawless. The receiver retains about 85-90% of original blue finish. The barrel is largely a pleasing brown with a small balance of finish in the protected areas. Note the ‘U’ stamp on the barrel band, and the ‘4’ stamped on the buttstock. There is a small wood repair in the left side of the stock at the rear about the size of a dime. Overall a very fine example that has impressive condition with a mint bore!
