Description:
This is an excellent example of the Inland M1 Paratrooper Carbine. The top of the receiver is marked "U.S. CARBINE / CAL. 30 M1" on the front and "INLAND DIV. / 5168391" on the rear. The top of the barrel is marked "INLAND MFD. DIV. / GENERAL MOTORS / 5 - 44". The right rear of the trigger group is stamped "INLAND" which is an Inland mark. The hammer is marked "H.I." which is an Inland mark. The type lll short magazine release is marked "M" on the face and "E.I." which is an "EATON POND Co' for Inland. The smooth push button safety is unmarked which is Inland and others. The inside of the operating slide is marked "PI" which is an Inland mark. The Inland round bolt is a Type 3 assembly marked "A.I.". The front sight is a post set between two protective wings and marked "N" which is an Inland mark and others. The Type II rear sight is marked "PI" for Packard Manufacturing a subcontractor for Inland. The Type II barrel band is marked "II" on the left side of the band for Inland. The inside of the handguard is marked "IO" which is an Inland mark. The interior of the forearm is marked "IO" next to the magazine well wall which is correct for an M1A1 stock. The inside of the buttplate is unreadable, but does have a serial number. The rear of the stock, above the pistol grip, is marked with an obliterated proof. The bottom of the grip is marked with "RI" stamp. The magazine is marked "II" in a circle, which is an Inland mark. Comes with an oiler. .30 Carbine
