Description: A fascinating & unique 10 & 12 gauge factory original 2 brl set documented 2-1/2 per the research letter. Gun made with 28” damascus brls with 2-3/4” chambers. Both sets of brls with matted ribs, usual rib legends, and their own forends stamped “1” & “2”. Brl lugs stamped “3”. 10 ga brls with unstruck brl weight of 5lbs, 12ga brl weight stamp 5lbs. 4 oz. Forends are both checkered in DH pattern of the era with engraved steel tips, Deeley latch release, and irons. Casehardened boxlock receiver engraved in standard DH pattern of the era. Gun built with fishtail top lever. Trigger plate with scroll and 4 flying ducks. Gun made with double triggers, ejector, auto safety. Pistol grip walnut buttstock with carved teardrop behind receiver, is checkered in 3 point pattern through the wrist with original checkering that extends behind the grip per factory letter. Butt with gold color oval on toeline and has original skeleton buttplate. Gun is housed in a period Abercrombie & Fitch oak and leather 2 brl set case with accessories. Gun accompanied by a PGCA research letter identifying the gun as having been shipped October 12, 1891 to C. K. Sober of Lewisburg, PA that identifies the gun as found today with special instructions to “include 2-1/2 frame, triggers rounded & no sharp edges and check stock back of grip”. Gun is also accompanied by several photos of the original Parker order and stock books showing the details on this gun. C.K. Sober is well documented as a professional shooter and trick shot. Condition is overall very good as period used and maintained by Parker Brothers. Both brl sets with 90-95% of their factory damascus pattern. Forends are very good with crisp checkering. 10 ga brls with screw repair at rib extension. Frame has drifted to gray. Buttstock is very good and retains most of its factory finish. There is a tiny chip on the left side of the top tang, otherwise stocks are sound. Bores are bright and shiny. Mechanics are excellent. Case is very good with leather drying and interior with stains.
