Description:
These lst gen 444's with 24" barrel, 2/3 mag and factory Monte Carlo Straight Texan Stye Stock are becoming increasingly collectable and sought after by hunters and collectors....We Love Them. Produced from 1965 to 1972....no more exactly like them will ever be made.
From the old Marlin factory about 40 mins from our door now sadly no longer there. This was a family operation known for honest well made guns and for taking care of its employees. With the following minor exceptions this is exactly as it was when it left N. Harven 57 years ago:
The sight hood was removed  and the Marlin Bullsey has fallen out. These are avail and require a little bit of hand fitting ...easy for anyone evey a little handy  (the wood naturally shrinks and drys with age and the plastic did not..so many are missing....easy and cheap to fix)
Some mistakenly thought this was where sling swivelsl were supposed to be ..These models were factory equipped with sling swivels.
It appeaers even the sling is original however it is old and we do not reccomend using the sling as it is dry and might break. The scope is an interesting period correct Weaver...an early range finding type reticle  While it is
clear and in good shape for hunting a more modern scope would be better however as a collector  it is a pretty unique scope.
Shipping is $ 75.00 ($ 100.00 if a hard case is used)
The guns are now found with asking prices as high as the mid 2000's...this completly original example is avail for hundreds less
