Description:

Walther P38, made in 1940, all matching to include factory matching magazine. SN: 8976a. Cal: 9mmP. Standard configuration P38 with 5” barrel, drift adjustable front sight and fixed rear sight. Stacked address on the left side of slide that includes “ac” manufacturers code, the date “40” and the serial number. Safety positions marked with a white highlighted “S” and a red highlighted “F”. The right side of slide with the usual three acceptances, two of which were applied after bluing. The full serial number is repeated on the left side of the frame, left side of the slide, under the barrel and on the locking block. Fitted with correct dark brown grips and factory matching magazine having double Eagle/359 proofs on spine.

Condition:

G/VG original salt blue with fading on sides of slide and frontstrap with cold blue touch up. Comparable condition grips and magazine. Mirror bore with sharp rifling. Correct manual mechanics though slide will not reliably hold open unless upward pressure is put on the magazine.
