Offered her for sale from a very prestigious collection is a CLASSIC Winchester Model 62A.22 rifle made in New Haven, CT just 18 miles away from our shop and gallery in Southport. It is a classic American slide-action (pump-action) .22 caliber rifle, known for its reliability, simplicity, and high-quality craftsmanship. It's a refined version of the earlier Model 62, and it was produced by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in New Haven, Connecticut.??
Serial Number 223078 dates this rifle to circa 1947. Winchester transitioned from the Model 62 to the Model 62A around 1940, with the 62A incorporating some minor internal design changes. Post-WWII production resumed in earnest around 1946.

This specimen retains virtually all finish and shows very little if any use. It only has a slight draw mark on slide when retracted. This level of condition is exceptionally rare for a post-war utility rifle like the 62A, which were often used heavily for target shooting or small game hunting. A draw mark from retraction is normal, even in unfired examples that have been handled.
Certainly a collector Grade specimen with original this would make a worthy addition to any collection.
