Description:
Nice in the Georgia range as many were sent there is this 1859 Brass mounted Sharps Carbine. Rifled bore rifling well defined. Metal is nice overall with no signs of any real pitting and all markings are
clear. Wood with usual wear and a piece replaced at the toe of the stock. Many have this problem due to a softer brass buttplate that is easier to bend than the iron ones are. Mechanically excellent and
is all complete with matching serial numbers. Scarce gun that was probably issued and used by Georgia cavalrymen. The carving on the back of stock usually indicates southern usuage.
