This Beretta S687 EELL Diamond Pigeon Sporting .410, produced in 2004, is a superb small-bore over/under built in the finest Beretta tradition. It features 30" solid-rib barrels chambered for 3" shells, threaded for Mobilchokes, and supplied with one cylinder and one improved cylinder choke. The sideplated boxlock action is fitted with a single selective trigger, non-automatic safety, and timed ejectors. Weighing 6 lbs 14.7 oz, it measures 1.375" drop at comb, 2" drop at heel, and a full 15" length of pull to a leather-covered recoil pad. The rib is matted and topped with a silver mid-bead and white front bead.
The action is richly engraved with extremely fine floral and vine scrollwork covering about 95% of its surface, signed by Bottega C. Giovanelli near the trigger guard. The bottom is inscribed “P. Beretta / S687 EELL / Diamond Pigeon.” A gold-plated trigger completes the refined appointments.
The walnut stock and forend are exhibition quality, with striking feathered figure and sharp, multipoint checkering on the pistol grip and forearm. The stock includes a blank initial oval near the toe and a handsome long pull to the leather pad, making it especially desirable for shooters requiring additional length.
Condition is very good overall, showing only faint handling wear consistent with age and use. Bores are clear, ejectors are strong and in-time, the trigger is crisp, and the action locks up tight and smooth. Barrels retain nearly all of their original finish.
A desirable and elegant Diamond Pigeon Sporting model, this .410 combines beauty, rare configuration, and practical usefulness—a premium upland and clays gun with collector appeal.
