Description:
This is an original P-1887 Mk3 Bayonet with fitted scabbard and frog, for the Martini-Henry Rifle. This is a Nepalese marked example. The unsharpened 18 3/8" non-fullered blade is in excellent condition with ricasso marked "Wilkinson Company" proof marks and a date of 98. The spine is marked with more proofs. The reverse is marked with the X proof and WD. The guard is marked with script and the pommel is marked "NEP." 8543. The scabbard is also in excellent condition with light patina on steel and supple leather, only marking is a single "8" and more script on the locket. The frog is in very good condition, supple leather, light crackles, a few stitches missing on right side top seam. Over all very nice example of the P-1887. ;
