Description:
This is a steel Hoffer-Thompson cartridge conversion round for the Model 1903 Springfield rifles that were converted to .22 Caliber. Designed for low cost indoor practice the steel case was loaded with a special .22 Short cartridge by pulling an interior plunger. The cartridge is shorter than a .30-06 round and was used in special chambered rifles that would function like a proper rifle but only chamber the special cartridge. This example remains in near excellent functional condition.
