This Grulla 215F is a beautifully crafted Spanish sidelock built in 1987, chambered in the highly desirable 16 gauge with 2.75" chambers. Built on a rounded-body Holland & Holland–style hand-detachable sidelock action, it features double triggers with an articulated front, auto-safety, gas escapes, and timed ejectors. The action remains smooth, locks up tight, and the ejectors are strong and in-time. Triggers are crisp, and the gun remains mechanically excellent.
The coin-finished action is adorned with elegant Purdey-style rose and scroll engraving covering 95% of the frame and locks, showing the hand craftsmanship Grulla is known for. The 27.75" blued steel barrels retain about 95% of their original finish and are choked light modified (.009") and improved modified (.028"), giving it versatile performance in the field. A tapered concave rib with a white front bead completes the sighting plane.
The straight-grip walnut stock and splinter forend display dark grain figure and remain in very good condition with only light handling marks typical of careful use. Sharp checkering is intact, and the stock measures 14.625" length of pull to a checkered butt, with drops of 1.5" at comb and 2.5" at heel. The gun balances beautifully at just 6 lbs 8 oz, making it ideal for upland hunting.
Overall condition is very good, showing only minor wear consistent with its age, and the bores remain clear with strong walls. A fine example of Grulla’s craftsmanship, this 215F offers a rare combination of a round-bodied sidelock and the ever-popular 16 gauge—both features that make it particularly attractive to collectors and serious wingshooters alike.
