Hammerguns - Existing company records tell us this fine gun was completed October 29th 1889. Thank you Atkin, Grant, and Lang for supplying this information. It is in very high condition for a gun of this age featuring the best wood and engraving and barrels the London trade could offer. 50% original case color remaining which is remarkable and the engraving is as sharp as the day it was cut.
*This gun in my book is what I call a "Keeper." Keepers are guns that we seldom see in such honest and well cared for condition and even better, in their original makers case. I have a very hard and fast rule that I only keep 16g. guns for myself. This rule keeps me from being overly tempted by guns like this! If this gun was a 16g I would certainly be "keeping" it!
