Original Mauser bottom metal with a hinged floorplate and inside-the-bow release. Action is also fitted w/ an upgraded Dayton Traister Mk II replacement trigger. Claw mounts on the rounded rear bridge and a band sleeved over the Nock's form. Mauser style claw mounts have "sight tunnels" through the bottom of their posts and hold a vintage Carl Zeiss Zielvier telescopic sight. It appears to be an original Mauser barrel w/ 19 1/4" of barrel outside of the action. A Mauser island rear sight is sleeved onto the barrel with 1 standing/1 folding Express sight and a banded ramp front sight w/ removable sight hood as well as a barrel band front swivel. A very well made and nicely shaped walnut stock has a 13 7/8" LOP over a Mauser trap butt. Stock has a traditional beaded cheekpiece, 22 lpi wrap checkering w/ a borderless raised lip on the back of the hand and mullered borders along the straight edges. Wrap checkering on the forearm with mullered borders and an Ebony forend tip. A sling swivel stud stands along the toe line of the stock. Unfortunaetly, neither the metal work nor the stock work is signed, regardless, this is a very nicely finished rifle. The rifle weighs 8 lbs 7 oz. The stock shows some very minor handling marks and retains most of its high lustre oil finish. Metal is excellent as refinished. Bore is excellent and scope optics are clear. Price: $3,500.00 |
